I was happy to see the return of the Model 010 Holster (the predecessor to the 012) to Safariland's competition line - it's a "cleaner," no-frills version of the 012 especially suited for IPSC Limited class competition. The Model 007 is still available for Glocks and most Beretta's. (The 007 was the beginning of the Safariland revolution.)

The 012 Holster, used by IPSC greats such as Rob Leatham, Todd Jarret, and Jerry Barnhart, has won a ridiculous number of IPSC national and world championships. And Safariland's Model 771 or 773 magazine pouches, worn on the buckleless Model 4350 Outer Belt, were used for the lightening fast mag changes required to dethrone the previous champion. Or in The Great One's case, to repeat as champion one more time.

The Model 771 is Safariland's original open-front mag pouch design. It's a little taller (than the 773), so the mag release is a little longer and smoother than for the closed-front Model 773 (latest design), which offers a slightly quicker, snappier feeling release. I prefer the 771's for ten-round single stack mags, because they're a little taller, and the 773's are my favorite for double-stack mags.

The Model 029 underbelt is the foundation of the competition line. With hook-lined velcro, it's worn inside your belt loops. The loop-lined 4350 Outer Belt, with holster and mag pouches attached, then easily and securely fastens to the outside of the 029 underbelt.

Safariland designed the Model 5186 Holster with the IDPA shooter in mind. It's lightweight and compact, and it's excellent price make it a favorite for IDPA competition.

Both lined with "Safari Suede," the Model 5182 is a Paddle-style Holster (pictured), and the Model 5186 is a Belt-loop style holster.

Safariland makes two single magazine pouches: one belt-loop and one paddle style. And two double magazine pouches: again, one belt-loop and one paddle style. The Model 81 is my favorite single mag pouch, and also doubles as a handier carrier for other things, including a Mini-mag flashlight, for example. The Model 079 is my favorite double pouch. Mouseover the Model 81 and see - the 079 is all you could ask for in a concealment double mag pouch. (Both are legal for IDPA competition.)

The Rapid Light System's mount allows the light to be used either as a primary light or mounted to a pistol that has standard Light Rails.

The RLS also fits rifles and shotguns with "picatinny" or standard Light Rails.

Due to Safariland's recent depreciation of their Levitation Line of holsters, belts, and magazine pouches, I no longer carry them.
