Can anybody say how light a load will run (or not run) an XD Tactical .45?
Looking at guns shooting .45 Minor for IDPA ESP and SSP

Jim, thanks for asking this question. I just got a XD45 5", and was wondering about the same thing. How low can you go?
For IDPA CDP is still 165 PF, but for ESP it is 125PF. Can't use the XD in SSP, XD is classified as a single action. I use a XD9 now, great gun, but really liked the fact I can see the damn holes with the 45. Nice to have a gun that can shoot 2 divisions.
Hope some has the answers, thanks in advance.

If you like the longer sight radius of the XD45 Tactical then you are going to have to get a SS non-captured guide rod and play with 1911 recoil springs. Safety consideration, with an empty gun held vertical the recoil spring MUST hold the gun in battery when the striker fires.

Wolff has reduced power recoil springs for the XD-45 Tactical. I run reliably at 140 pf (200 g bullets at 700 fps) with the lightest weight spring they offer (14 lbs ifn I remember correctly). Very soft shooting....

bfwally, what powder are you using and how much?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It is 4.5 g of Titegroup under a Rainier 200 g plated bullet. It chronos at ~ 700 fps. The standard deviation is significant ( ~+/- 15 fps) but I have not noticed any accuracy problem.
