I'll really like to rig up a snow sled with a shooting platform or seat, that would travel down a gentle slope and have the shooter engaging targets along the way.

I shot one where there were two sets of two threat targets with partial cover of a no-threat(like in six chickens). Stage brief had you and two buddies at a fair when a few drunks start assaulting your "buddies". Stage was two strings, the first had you engage in tactical sequence while someone jostled you from behind. Second string tactical sequence but you had to "fend off" another attacker with your weak hand("attacker" would stand 10 degrees behind the 180 with your hand on his chest while he makes half-hearted attempts to step forward).

Another idea is to have them shoot from inside a junk car(or a mock-up of a car). No movement there.

If it's really cold, you could set up an El Prez type target presentation and stand by a fire barrel while you shoot it

I'm sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself :roflol:

Fortunately, around the Mobile area, we may see winter mornings in the upper 20's and low 30's. These relatively mild winters allow us to shoot year round. I don't envy you guys in the frozen north trying to shoot....no matter how pretty the snow is :surprise:

That is funny but all jokes a side this can be used in some form.

We shoot all winter. The stages are the same. We use a snowblower to make free fire zones

If the snow is deep....... break out the Cooper's Tunnel

Seriously--- anything prone is sure to get the shooter's attention.

How is pasting targets any problems with tape or pasters?

The pasters work fine most of the time. It its wet or super cold they might start to fall off Check out my you tube page to see us in the winter.

Idea #1:
Having done winter matches both north and south, south is better.
Change your zip code.

Idea #2:
"Drive By" stage, from a heated car, window down, of course.

Idea#3:
Build a small shack, that can be heated, and shoot from it.
A three sided one will do fine.

My three cents.

When it's so cold or wet that pasters don't cooperate, set up steel plates over shoulders of no shoots/non threats.

I also once saw a club treat a whole bunch of paper targets with polyurethane to combat moisture. They seem to hold up pretty well to cold rain.
Getting older by the day and definitely fat. Maybe that explains why I am not getting any faster...

We shoot all winter at my club, 17 below Zero one match, we keep the pasters in a car that is kept running at each stage, then the pasters work pretty good. You do need to keep things simple or someone will fall and have potential safety issues. Have fun

I was considering just using a lot of steel just to make life simpler.
