but Major Clays is usually an unpublished load and you could not pull it off
in your gun without a possible kaboom. Major Clays is 4.0-4.5 under a 180 but only
if you load long OAL's 1.19-1.20 which wont fit in your mags or chamber ...
Your going to need a slower powder for Major in you gun ...
From the Hodgdon online data site:
180 GR. HDY XTP Hodgdon Clays .400" 1.125" 3.0 727 26,000 PSI 3.5 847 34,300 PSI

200gr BBI 3.6gr Clays ave 855fps 1.135" OAL no pressure signs with FC100 primer. very smokey
200gr Zero 3.6gr International Clays ave. 843fps 1.135" OAL FC100 primer no pressure issues at all
200gr BBI 3.6gr Inernational Clays ave. 877fps 1.135" OAL FC100 primer no pressure issues. almost no smoke
When I started playing with the International I was very surprised that it only took 3.6gr to make major. Since it is a slower powder I thought for sure it would require a heavier charge weight. Not sure why it doesn't.
All of my "bulk" chrono testing was with a S&W 610 and SIG P226.

By the way. Clays has been my everyday .40 major powder for many moons. Have fiddled with a half dozen others but haven't found anything as good in my G35.
