Ok, I bought brand X aftermarket trigger for my G24C. I have had some issues with a round firing when I close the slide using the slide release. I had always thought it was just the striker slipping off of the trigger bar. I had a crazy idea last night and pulled the extractor and striker, put the trigger in the staged position and put the slide on as if it were in battery. Sure enough, I was depressing my plunger and not blocking the striker from slamming forward. I took apart my stock G17 and the striker stays blocked when in battery as it should.
Now what? File and stone back the trigger bar at a different angle so it contacts the plunger later?
Why was this not going full auto if it was only sometimes firing when the slide closed?

I strongly suggest you not start filing on gun parts. Not only are the chances of ruining parts great, but the manufacturer might be less willing to replace the kit after it's been modded. How would they know the original problem wasn't caused by you? Just call the manufacturer and explain the problem. I'm sure they'll ask you to return the parts you have, and somehow they'll work to solve your problem.
Pride and fear are emotions, which hope for an outcome. Outcomes take your attention from the present, where the shooting happens, to the future. It is totally impossible to do anything in the future, because it hasn't happened yet. The key to shooting your best is to be present as the witness of the shooting. Do not judge, do not give yourself anything to live up to. We can only shoot as well as we have trained ourselves to shoot. To try to shoot only induces stress. Be content with your current ability. And accumulate practice to improve that ability. Consolidate, build strength where you feel weakness. We cannot raise our ability until we accept our current limitations. Practice dissolves limitations. Matches simply define where the current limits exist. The game of shooting is all about redefining our limits.

Step one, thank the powers above that you didn't put a round through something you didn't want to when the side was released
Step two, remove X aftermarket trigger group
Step three, contact X aftermarket company for a refund / replacement

Does that trigger group have an adjustable trigger pretravel? If it does, you may have taken up too much pretravel and defeated the fp block. Turn your cocked G24 upside down, unloaded of course, with no mag and you will see the fp block plunger. Move the trigger slightly with the trigger safety depressed and if it is pushing on the plunger, loosen the pretravel...
