I have an old Behlert built Series 70 Colt that has breechface erosion. There used to be an insert that you could get, but I can't find them. It might be something that's long gone now, I haven't shot the gun in over 10 years, but would like to get it fixed up. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Who made them? Do they still exist?

Thanks

EGW used to list it on their website under gunsmithing services. I don't see it now, but it would be worth calling them. http://www.egw-guns.com/

The guns is actually at EGW getting the dust cover repaired, long story, but he doesn't do gunsmithing anymore, my gun is the last gun in the shop and he won't do the breechface.

Thanks Benny, I'll check there.

Clark still has them. Firing pin bushing, available in centered and eccentric. Installed an eccentric
one in a Colt 9mm 1911 last year. Simple operation with a milling machine.

About 2/3 of the way down on the barrel bushing list. I don't see the non-offset bushing listed, but I'll
bet thyey have them. Worth a phone call.

If the erosion is not too extreme it might be possible to file/ sand the breechface down flush, of course you would have to rebarrel.
