I got an email from a friend and since I haven't shot Bianchi in awhile, what is the current rules on iron sight division?
Where can I find a current copy of the rules? I've been looking on the NRA site, but not seeing it.

Hi, Pat, I have a question regarding NRA metallic guns for Bianchi.
I have one of the first .45 comp guns I assembled back in the day, Colt S70 5" slide with Wilson Accucomp 2 1" single port compensator, Barsto barrel. If I weld up the compensator port can I use it in metallic?
I would really like to use the old gun again for old times sake. It won a LOT of matches for me a long time ago.

With that iron sighted gun you could theoretically shoot in two divisions.
First, Metallic Sight, this is specifically for guns without optical sights, compensators and barricade wings. You may touch (but not grasp) the Barricade for support with your hands only, no part of the firearm may touch the barricade except under recoil. You may go prone at all distances in Plates and Practical except 10Y. There are restrictions on barrel length. Trigger pull and safety rules as per Open apply.
I would suggest that you check with Tom Hughes at the NRA on what you should do about filling in the comp. I think that it would be legal to fill it in and leave the length as it is now, it will just become an extended barrel weight, as long as the overall length of the weight and barrel does not exceed 6 1/4" you will be fine. Removing the ported section of the comp and replacing the front sight onto the remaining comp would be certainly legal in Metallic Sight, and if there is room for the sight I would go with this. 2lb trigger and operational grip safety required.
Second, Open gun with Iron Sights. You can have compensators and barricade wings but no optical sights, all other advantages that open guns enjoy apply.
The comped gun as described. Is currently legal, but somewhat disadvantaged as an Iron Sighted Open Gun. The mover would be fun with 185grainers.
