so i got this xdm9 and had a nice skinny dawson precision front sight and warren rear site put on and boy you can definitely see more movement with that little front sight than you can with the big blocky factory sights, or maybe its my imagination (or my hands are shaking more  )

i think this might help with dryfire pratice a bit more because with that other big front sight your thinking (''naw, it aint moving around, its solid like a rock'') and then with this one you notice (''oh its kind of shaking around a lil bit and it twitched to the left a little bit when i pulled the trigger.''

???

I am the opposite. I see less movement with a narrower front sight that with a wider one.

;)

From much experimentation, I found the most "effective" sight picture to be - visually, with a rear site width between .110" - .125" - when the left and right "light bars" add up to the width of the front sight.

after i ordered this front sight i was actually thinking about that image of your prefered sight picture in your book and was thinking "hmm i think my light bars are gonna be a tad wide." heh

this is what i got right now. fairly typical: but yeah im just kinda figuring out what i like and dont like

If that pic was taken from the distance your eyes would be from the sights, I'd say you'd call your shots and shoot better with a wider front sight.

im assuming the hi-viz i had on there would be more appropriate. i think most of these aftermarket front and rear sights are really set up to be paired with thier front or rear factory counterpart.
