I am building an open rifle for the upcoming 3 gun season and I am curious about where you are all zeroing your red dots. My primary optic will be a Leupold 3-9x40 and I will have a C-more STS as my second optic. I have a good idea of where I will zero the scope but I am unsure about what distance to use for the red dot. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks Juan

50 YARDS.....this way, you never have to worry about at what point the bullet trajectory crosses the line of sight, and typically, after 50yds.....you'll be using your primary optics. FYI.....the 50yds zero would be a REALLY close 200yd zero anyways, so at 100yds you'd be 1" to 1.5" high. At 25yds you'd be about an 1" to 1.25" low

I zero my secondary at 25 yards, its really close at 50, haven't shot it much further than that because my primary is 1.5 at the low end.

Just remember with the close stuff (5yards and under) your poi will be 1.5 or so low, just thinking of the tight no-shoots that we see a lot of...
