I am in need of a sling recommendation for my Benelli M2. I have an upcoming 2 gun match (shotgun & pistol) and the match is requiring that the shotguns be slung for portions of the stages. I'm looking for a two-point sling.

I see the M2 has a sling swivel hole on the bottom of the buttstock but that there is nowhere else on the front of the gun to mount a sling. I would like to sling this over a shoulder with the gun across my front (similar to an AR15 M4 two point setup) of which the lower buttstock mount doesn't seem ideal. So I guess I'm stumped and am need of a solution.

What sort of sling setup are you folks recommending?

You can use a standard rifle sling, wide is better, but you will need to fashion an attachment point forward. Even if you are not using the Nordic extension tube, they make an excellent barrel clamp that will fit a Bennelli tube that has a sling stud what attaches to it. If your match is real soon and you do not have the time to secure one, attach the forward point of the sling using para cord which is the duck tape of tactical shooting.

The other thing I have done which I like is my sling is attached to my butt stock via a loop of surgical tubing which you can buy where ever fly fishing articles are sold if you do not know a medical person. It gives me a measure of elasticity that holds the gun in place on my shoulder and I could not otherwise get the overall adjustment of length I desired on the sling on the shotgun.

I've got a Clark clamp on mine. I replaced the bolt with one from a Choat clamp (don't care for that one) and now have a place to attach a sling swivel.

Man, I HATE slings on SG's!
