You might call Mike Allee at Gunsmithing Only. He doesn't specialize in handguns, but is pretty good with everything. 913-722-6606.

Another option is Randy Brockman. He usually just works on 1911s and is setting up his own machine shop near Cole Camp, MO. Mobile 913-645-9739

Cool new screen name inspired by Mr. Zerwas.

In the area, Randy Brochman, is probably the only one I know of locally that I would allow to touch my automatics. Toolguy above is the only one I would allow to work on my revolvers.

I wish I could remember the name of the gunsmith but one of our local guys had a local "smith" build his STI based Limited gun. It looked and functioned like a drunken monkey had built it. The guy didn't even install the pin that holds the ejector in the gun. I would be very careful with choosing any of the "gunsmiths" in the area. You would be better off selecting one of the big names on this forum. You may pay more but if you are going to trust someone else to do the work you would be wise to choose carefully.

Chris

ETA, that I do almost all of my own work because I'm a picky bastard and I don't want to have to blame someone else. I'd rather blame myself if something doesn't work.
