I have a Springfield XDM 9mm and a S&W M&P 9mm Pro that are currently setup for production. I would like to set one up as a limited minor gun and can't quite decide. It looks like the parts for the M&P would cost less, but would love some advice. Anyone have experience that they would like to share? Curious most about mag capacity. I have heard rumors that both can comfortably go to 24 rounds.

Thoughts?

Member Kend has been shooting his M&PL in limited minor with good results. He won HOA at the Central Florida section match and just won limited today at the St. Augustine monthly match. If you shoot Alphas it does not matter. I believe Kenny gets a reloadable 23 in a mag and can start with 25 in the gun. He can also hook you up with what you need since he runs Speed Shooter Specialties.

I don't think you wil find a definitive answer here. The most correct answer I can think of for you is go with the one you shoot best. They are both fantastic platforms for Limited minor.

Since you own both guns I would ask "You" for the answer. Both guns are the same equiptment wise,
it's what "you" want to shoot in Limited ??

I personally find that the M&P has less recoil than the XD's.

I'd say it probably comes down to ergonomics... for me, the M&P is an exceptionally good fit to my hand, balances very well, and tracks smoothly in recoil.
