Here is a link to a post on my website with 9 mm major load data based on 5.5" Trubor: http://sashooter.com...x.php?topic=6.0
By the way you picked a good gun to start it is a middle weight, there are heavier guns and lighter guns but yours is in the middle.
I run Quinn's on both my 38 Supers, it makes life better, but with years of practice you can overcome the problems with the standard C-More mount, and hunting for the dot.
Keep an eye on the C-More mount screws and the grip screws they get loose fast in open.

Is your Trubor a stock pistol from STI or did you buy it from one of the gunsmiths that go through it before sending it out to you? I was just wondering if a box stock Trubor will run without having work done to it.
Thanks!

BigTinVA: It's a stock pistol. I thought I was going to have issues because right after I got it last week I tried shooting some Magtech factory 9mm because I didn't have my 9mm dies yet and it wouldn't cycle/eject properly...I will getting stove pipes and nose dives. But with my reloads it runs great! I've always wanted a custom Open racer, but the Trubor will have to do for now because $$ is tight.

Hi:
The Quinn II sight (not "site" - a site is a location - e.g; I went to the building site) is a joy - it places the lens right over the barrel and when you zero the gun the point of aim will remain within an inch or so from 15 yards to 35 yards.
It also eliminates any ejection problems due to the scope mount partially blocking the ejection port.
Good luck with your new gun.

Hi:
If you are close to making major just put some gun oil down your barrel before you go to the Chrono Station and you'll make major!

Isn't that kind of frowned upon? I know the chrono station has the ability to make you fire several rounds into the berm before shooting over the chrono if they suspect you have done something to the gun.

You will probably find that your 7.6gn HS6 load will crono out to about 155pf with 124s. I use 7.5gn HS6 with 124s for a 150pf minor load, still runs my gun, and is the same on paper at 25 yards compared to 8.3gns HS6 with 124s for my major load (171pf). I tried lots of other powders, and kept comming back to HS6, it just "felt" best to me...at both major and minor.
find a buddy with a crono and check em!

Two easy fixes for that. One is to degrease the screws and holes well with something like rubbing alcohol before you reinstall with loctite. Second, put a drop of clear nail polish on the inside of the screws in the dust cover...keeps oil/lube from getting in the threads. R,

The pistol has a few mod's done to the stock Trubor. Dave also did a tune up on it. The pistol ran great. Not one problem. Used 124gr JHP with 7.8gr Silo at 1.175, once fired range brass. I am very please with it.

Not a good idea (oil down the barrel) for many reasons.
