Some forum software puts a "Search This Thread" control at the top of the thread. GlockTalk has it for sure, 1911forum too. Makes it easy to find stuff in the huge threads you tend to get in the Gallery, Rules forum, etc.

As a work-around (and depending on your browser), you can open the thread, hit Ctrl-F, and a search window or toolbar will open. Type in what you're looking for and it will take you to the first instance. Hit "Next" to progress to the remaining finds.
Speed IS a tactic (and a pretty damn good one, too! )

I believe that will search the page but not the entire thread.

Danggit! You're right.
I tried to find a way to use the Advanced Search to search just one thread, but couldn't work it out.

If you are on high-speed internet, you might make the page bigger? (option in your controls to specify how many post come up on a thread?)

That's probably the best "solution." As I just logged into IP's own forums, which is running on their latest software, and a search this thread feature is not there.

The Search Topic button at the bottom of each thread will search the entire thread, is that what you mean?
