Good call on the iPhone timer, thanks!

...however I find that I need to have the phone no more than 12" or so from the gun to trigger the timer...even with sensitivity and focus tuned all the way up.

May try strapping to my wrist, though that is not ideal.

Update...I found that by maxing out the sensitivity and focus settings, I can set the iPhone on a table with a stand that places the device about 2' from my extended arm, and at the same level, it works fine.

Mine works great with the Ipod Touch and a Blackberry headset. I place it on a table about 2 feet from where I shoot; calibrate it, then shoot. Very convenient. I lay the headset on the table and the microphone picks up the shot and the earphones are loud enough to hear the buzzer without wearing them.
