Purchased 300 Hornady 68gr match boat tails. Was suprised to see varience in weight. Some were 68.4 and some 67.7gr
What effect does the +-.3 grains have at 200yds assuming all other things equal?

I know the military comp shooters separate their bullets by weight but I remember reading on the benchrest forum that the bearing surface or base to Ogive measurement was much more important.
Try measuring that once and see what you get.
I had some 75 grain Horn that I measured and ended up with 3 different piles like they came off different lots or machines.
Though at 200 yds I wouldn't bother sorting at all unless you're shooting some kind of benchrest match.

I shoot 308 cal (300WSM); the bullet variance matters even at 100 yards if you're shooting 1 ragged holes. I've never separated by the ogive (oh, noes, you've done it, now I will). The brass case weight variance matters as well, I use only 1 brand, and separate by weight.
For 223 shooting clay pies at 200 yards, neither bullet/case weight, nor brand seem to matter
