My open gun is getting a little loose, I know about Accu rails but has anyone had Jim from Innovative custom do his "weld job" on their pistol? Thanks

I had Matt Mclearn weld up the frame and slide on an open gun that was misfit the original gunsmith when built.
Any way that gun is a drill and very reliable and that was about 15,000 rounds ago. We
refinished the gun after it was properly fit by Matt in hard chrome. The gun is now a keeper.

I had Jim Milks build a steel gun for me recently. I had him tighten the frame and slide up (weld job). There is no side to side or up/down movement now. Jim is a great guy too.

I don't know about Jim, but if he doesn't work out for you try EGW. I had them weld up and fit the frame on my open gun. They did a great job and the gun is as good as new.

EGW is out of the gunsmithing business, he posted on 1911 forums that he's been sending most of his gunsmithing work to jim milks for a while and he decided to cut out the middle man (himself) in the deal.

I didn't know that. I guess I should pay closer attention to things. In that case, I highly recommend Jim as a great guy to do the weld up.
