I have a new 9mm EAA Witness Compact Steel and I love it. The gun shoots better than any pistol I own including my Sigs. I am having an issue with magazine capacity effecting feeding. If I load more than 9 rounds in the mags the rounds will nose-dive into the magazine. It will do this until there are 5 rounds left. Then it will feed properly. If I load 9 rounds only the mags function flawlessly. EAA tech is a waste and Tanfoglio is going to contact them to try to resolve the issue. I have changed over to Wolff springs and am still having the problem. I think that the problem is the follower but would like some futher help prior to changing them. I am also going to check the feed-lip dimensions.

Thanks

currently EAA only imports large frame guns (meaning the magazine is large enough to fit 38 super 10mm and 45 acp) these guns are notorious for not feeding 9mm properly I dont know if anybody has a good solution for this yet, I have seen a guy shooting a custome match in 9mm at some local matches and I think he was abel to load to capacity but from what I read this is not normaly the case. If anybody can help it would be Henning you can find him in the vendor area he is the best.

Good Luck...

Whoever figures this one out could write their own ticket. It really makes you wonder why one of the mag guys hasn't taken this one on.

Maybe because EAA/Tanfoglios are not that popular among American competition shooters, thus they don't see a sufficient market.
Pride and fear are emotions, which hope for an outcome. Outcomes take your attention from the present, where the shooting happens, to the future. It is totally impossible to do anything in the future, because it hasn't happened yet. The key to shooting your best is to be present as the witness of the shooting. Do not judge, do not give yourself anything to live up to. We can only shoot as well as we have trained ourselves to shoot. To try to shoot only induces stress. Be content with your current ability. And accumulate practice to improve that ability. Consolidate, build strength where you feel weakness. We cannot raise our ability until we accept our current limitations. Practice dissolves limitations. Matches simply define where the current limits exist. The game of shooting is all about redefining our limits.

I see a contradiction in those two statements. ;)

I'm going to try something based on some specs I took off of different 9mm mags. If it works I'll let everyone know. It will take some time, but I'll post results and pics when I am done. It won't be for the faint-of-heart!! But I love this little gun so much, I'm willing to try anything...well not anything!!

I never had any issues with 9mm small frame mags. FYi,...some P9, Sabre,...Baby desert eagle, Jericho,....and Bul Storm may work for you. However, I have found even with my CZ Shadow the Tanfoglio mags work best.
