Had a night i couldn't sleep so i figured this out.

.45acp = 70pcs per #
9mm = 95pcs per #
.357 = 75 pcs per #
.223 = 70pcs per #
30/06 = 30pcs per #

50 cal ammo can weighs 21 lbs
30 cal ammo can weighs 6 lbs
7.62/200 round ammo can weighs 3.75 lbs

I was doing an inventory of my gear and this was helpful. Hope it helps

Thanks, man! :cheers:

Here is another helpful thread as far as figuring out how much brass you have:

http://www.brianenos...?...01&hl=brass

If you scroll down to where jmorris posted, he has the weight per a thousand pieces.

I didn't know there was a difference between the .30 cal cans and the skinny 7.62 (200 round count) cans. Or rather that there was a seperate .30 cal can. I have plenty of the skinny cans. I think at last count, I had 54 ammo cans of different varieties. The SAW (M249 cans) will hold 14,000 primers...or 14 bricks . Nah...not all of my ammo cans are full. They are especially helpful for filling up with just bullets and then weighing down my reloading bench since it isn't mounted to the wall.

I think your weight for the skinny cans is right on. Now, if they would just make them out of stainless steel.... :ph34r:

Chills, thanks for the link! trying to inventory my stuff and get ready for winter reloading season.

The skinny cans are handy. Stainless would be nice.
