I just found out today that Aaps will be no longer be. I was thinking about putting some postal matches together over here. It would be nothing formal, just some stages put together.
For those who don't know what postal matches are. A stage would be posted and you would set it up at home. Since it will be airsoft you won't have to go to the range.
You would just report back your HF. There will be no awards or anything, just some friendly competition.
I really enjoyed shooting the Aaps postal matches and I'm sorry to see them go and I felt they helped my shooting alot.
I'll by busy the rest of this month getting ready for the Ohio sectional and Ipsc Nationals that my home club is hosting. Between trying to get some practice in and some work parties to get the props ready I'm won't have alot of time. My plan would be Oct or the 1st of November. The plan would be to run the matches over the winter months.
Anyone interested let me know so I can see how much interest is out there.
I'll be thinking what poppers and targets for the match. A timer or stop plate would be needed or if you had someone with a stop watch. I'll have to think about how I want to handle all that.

This is probably the next step for Postal Matches. We can put up a thread here, and duplicate what was being done at www.aaps-federation.org.
We can use USPSA classifiers that lend themselves to 1/3 scale adaptation. A 1/3 scale USPSA target can be printed on an 8.5x11" sheet of paper.
I have really been enjoying the AAPS shoots. It's sad, because most of us just purchased AAPS-legal equipment. If we'd known, I think I'd have gotten USPSA-style poppers.
We should also check with BAM Airsoft. It's certainly in their best interest to see the sport progress.

Hey Flyin40,
Thanks so much for stepping forward and setting up these postal matches.
How about postal matches using long guns or is that way too complicated since there are AEG and then gas powered rifles, etc? I use a Classic Army M15A4 as a long gun trainer.

I was just about to sign up as a member of AAPS because of their postal matches.
If I can still use my BAM Airsoft Colt Popper stop plate I'll be in. And ready to start.
