Last year we had a little contest going at the Nationals that I got a kick out of and haven't seen anything about it this year. I think we came up with a list of who was playing and agreed that for each penalty we'd ante up $1. The competitor with the fewest penalties won the pot. One clarification, but no-penalty mikes (disappearing targets) don't count.....I can't recall if there are any this year, but either way, not a big deal.

Anybody wanna play?

I should point out that we had a separate contest for each match and we handed out the winnings at the awards ceremony. I'm only shooting Open so I'd be in for that one. R,

Boy, do I remember this contest. My open pistol was not kind to me as the Cmore was WAY off last year. I'd be cool with doing this again this year if possible. I have some money to recoup.

The rules were actually a $1 for every mark to the right of a "C"....

Xre was the man with this competition in open last year, and I recall Smitty was the leader on the limited side.

Last year, it was $1 for every shooting related penalty (that is, misses, no-shoots, extra-shots, extra-hits), and for each D. You had to commit before the 1st shot of the match was fired, and you're in the match at that point. No late buy-ins or "late starts". You could buy yourself out at any point for (was supposed to be) double your current total, but you're out at that point. There may have been some other things - you can dig up the old threads (there was one for 2006 and for 2007, as well).

Also... you had to present your yellow sheets or verification slips at the end of the match to the guy running the game to verify penalties, and if you had non-shooting related penalties, you should be able to provide some kind of proof (video, get the RO to write it on the sheet, bring along someone to verify - preferably someone else on your squad who's playing, too... etc).

Gosh i forgot all about this sideshow :surprise:
I'm certainly in , in case no one remembers Ben Stoeger won last years pot against open guns. I think Smitty won limited.

If enough people are interested i can help Bart run this thing, not too difficult with everthing laid bare on the uspsa results pages.

Penalties only? Or every mark to the right of a C?

Oh, remind me of the one stupid, idiotic, ridiculous mike on a wide open, target at 15yds that cost me a class win :P

Actually, you're right, it did include D's. I'm not calling any shots, but I'd say why not make $1 for every Delta or shooting penalty, you can buy your way out at the end of any day for double your then current total and lowest total wins the pot??? No divisions, just heads up shooting.....anybody?

Damn i'm getting my matches mixed up  And i hope we didn't wait too long to start this up.

Seeing that the damages have rarely gotten too much over $20 how do you guys feel about just throwing in a fixed amount ( like $20) to keep it simple?

I would be up for running the lim/ lim 10 mtach.

Sure if you can have an accidental accounting error when totaling up my PE :roflol:

if we want to increase the Pot, how about $10 buy in $1 per D, M, PE. That should also keep people from bailing out.

It was fun getting a wad of cash last year.

I would like to see us just make it a buck a penalty again. The point of the game isn't to get lots of money on the table, but to give you a little bit extra to focus on and keep yourself from dropping points.
