My dad is 70 and previously a very active healthy guy.
He got pneumonia a couple weeks ago and it went from take these antibiotics and take a day or two off, to being admitted to the hospital, to being put on a ventilator.
He is medicated and sleeping so he won't reject the ventilator, his air quality or need for the ventilator is at 60% which was down to 80% yesterday, so he has made an improvement.
They have him on steroids as they found out his pneumonia is actually a viral infection kind of thing that is very similar to pneumonia.
I saw him on last Friday and he was doing OK and he looked like he was getting better and then he pretty much crashed over the weekend
Fortunatley he is in an excellent ICU in Asheville, NC close to my/our office so I can catch vsiting hours daily.
But like I said he's out cold. His prognsis is that we hope the medicine works well enough for him to be able to breathe without a respirator.
If you pray, please pray for him, or get him on your church prayer chain.

Having gone through the same thing in June, I know the power of prayers... your father has been added to my list.
