I sent a email to the COPS' Secretary Saturday and asked about the match. He told me they should discuss the entry form packet at the COPS' next monthly meeting scheduled for 5 Aug 2009. Once everything is finalized, they will get the packet out.

It won't be long guys! Stages are about done and it's going to be a ton of shooting so better start saving bullets now! Hopefully we will get the match registration forms out this week.

Of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't be there. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters...We are lucky to have them, they make the battle. Ah, but one, one of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others home.

If you promise to let me win!!!??? I haven't decided yet, I didn't get to shoot the last two cause of Afghanistan and then another trip overseas last year so I'm already worried about doing a good job and thinking I might need all of the bullets I can cram into a gun and get away with.

1. Been wanting to shoot this one for a couple years now
2. Lots of shooting
3. Family in the area.

It's a win, win, win situation for me.

By "out" do you mean the website will be updated?

I hope the applications come flying in now! We likely won't post the stages; instead we will opt to keep them a secret until registration.
At any rate I can tell you that most of the stages are going to be 30 rounds or so (even one of the "speed shoots") It's my goal to really plus up the round count and keep the hard cover to bare minimum. Turn this one into what some might term a "perceived hose fest".
Maybe if everyone that has ever shot the FC before will come shoot it again and this time bring a friend..... that would be cool!

I think I decided I'm gonna shoot limited????

I can't make it this year (too busy with the USPSA Nats and 3 gun Nats), but that would be a good excuse to head home to see the family while getting some shooting in.
I was born, I shall die... the time between is mine.

Any idea on minimum round count for the match?

Sounds like I may have to save a little ammo for this one. :roflol:

Thanks,

BK

Generally, minimum round count is around 275 rds. Jim mentioned a lot of 30 rd courses ( ) and 10 stages so potentially 300 rds. Judging by the way I have been shooting lately, I will bring around 500.

I would say that if you brought 300 rounds..... you would have to borrow some from your buddy! I will try and get a round count in the next couple weeks all figured out.
Like Craig said you can easily plan for 300 shots required, take into account it will have the hoser feel to it and don't forget to figure in ammo for the man on man on Sunday. I would say that 500 rounds might be in order. B)

I will ask today about online squadding.... I think we will opt to keep it the same way it always has been.... but I will try.

I'm still working on the stage designs and doing the fine tuning... but the round count is getting up there. 10 stages, classifier ir 24 rounds, biggest stage is 32 rounds, several 30 rounders and one tiny 12 round stage just to even it out a little bit. One of the stages is kinda like practice for the man on man event on Sunday... so no reason to not participate in that as well.

Nope, we aren't posting stages early. No we aren't going to do the online squadding. Yes we are still having the Chamber of Commerce dinner on Saturday evening.

I would like to see this match get so big that we have to start shooting it over 2 days so if you shot it before, give it another chance... if you have not then this is a good year to start. I think everyone will find it a challenge and maybe more so for the ton of revolver shooters I hope you guys can attract!

So, since we are trying to attract Revolver shooters, you will be making sure that all the stages are 6 round neutral, right? :roflol:
