Sorry, I don't remember there names, there was a few of the shooters sitting around and talking at the practice range, and I was talking to Karl from NZ just for a second, and they where showing him their gun. It was a 1911 but the bushing was not in the slide it was on a block on the front of the gun or on the shroud? I didn't have time to go back and ask them about it, and then It didn't really sink in on what the advantages could be, but I think it could be a good design or idea on getting the weight of the comp from pushing up on the locking lugs while it is comming out of battery. Anyway if you know anyone who has a strange looking gun like that, please let them know I would like some photos!!!! Thank you for checking for me!!!

The ones I am talking about are 1911's and I think they were built on a STI widebody frame, but they are fixed up kind of like Grant's or Helen's guns, but I'm pretty sure they are from the Aussie team.

Good News I now know who built the guns. Here is a pic of Lee shooting the gun you are talking about.

This one I think has been bilt by Ray as well and is being shot by Graig

They are being built by Ray Pulver, he makes those shrouds and the bushing is fixed to the frame of the gun. I am sure they are a 6"frame with a 5"slide or maybe a 6"slide cut back. Best off contacting Ray for more information, his email is :- rpholland@optusnet.com.au. Ray is also manufacturing barrels, they are HPB or Holland Precision Barrels.

I'm not sure of what his design is, I would like to know?? But from what I understand the bushing is made into the shroud-- and I don't want that, I already made my own shroud and I want that to stay on the gun. I am wanting to make a bushing that stays at the end of the dust cover not the shroud. It's not somthing that I'll just be able to buy and just put on my gun, and I am not sending my gun to some other country. I have seen several different designs of guns like that. I want to come up with my own way of doing it. I might be able to apply several different ideas into one better one?

The way I was reading it here...it kinda looked like you might just be wanting to copy his idea. (I sure wouldn't be likely to hurry up and send somebody pics if they wanted to just copy my stuff.)

Ray Pulver is a fastidious perfectionist and a real nice guy to boot- he builds the winningest AP's in Australia. His auto pistols typically use a frame mounted solid bushing that is located by a proprietry system. The system ensures that the gun returns to zero each time the barrel is removed and re-installed.
But he is a busy man - he not only builds guns but also makes the new generation HPB barrels (formerly known as LISSNER).
Cut rifled, stainless steel with twist rates from 1:16 to 1:40 and available in 1911, CZ-SP01, Glock, Sig-Hammerli, H&K & Tanfoglio formats. Extreme accuracy and superb quality...... each one is a work of art.
All this in a one man show.....little wonder he hasn't got back to you yet !
Pistol Dynamics used to build a modular gun with a frame mounted spherical bushing.... under the Pachmayer brand I think.
