I've done a custom ss for TD Roe Canyon Creeks latest sponsored shooter, the base gun was a Springfield Loaded .40 in stainless steel. The novak style rear sight was welded up for a low mount Bo-mar style sight. Snake bellied top with flute borders, Dawson front sight, 40 lpi rear serrations, aftec and standard extractor, the factory slide serrations I cut a 60 degree groove into the serrations for a better grip, Nowlin barrel with EGW's thick bushing, Lim Cat XL firing pin, tungsten and ss guide rods, EGW sear, slide stop, ejector, and firing pin stop, Koenig hammer, SVI tri-glide trigger system, 2# pull, S&A grip safety and magwell, Ed Brown oversized release and strut, King's wide ambi, G-10 grips slide edges bevelled, squared trigger guard with 25 lpi checkering, 20 lpi front strap, under cut trigger guard/front strap, the gun was treated with our "Hard Blue" finish (TiAlNi) it is almost three times harder than hard chrome.

eerw,
It's not that hard, it's just time consuming, with prep, heat stop, welding, and filing/sanding.

The Single Stack .40 is in the hands of Canyon Creek's latest sponsored shooter, TD Roe. She will be at the Illinois Sectional shooting Single Stack in August. I wish her the best while having fun shooting her new gun.

For the "Hard Blue" I use an outside source, all they do is applied specialty finishes.

Do you have any more Springfield 40s in the works and for sale?
After that mess I had at Barry this year it's time for a new SS.

As usual a fine looking pistol by Rich. By the way Rich do you find the Stainless frames any more difficult to square the TG than carbon guns?

I have one SA .40 being built right now.

The ss frames are a little easier to square the trigger guard, the carbon frames sometimes give some problems. The key is to have everything clean and get full penetration the first time.
