Got a carload of us coming down from Richmond, VA for the GA State Championships. We could use some lodging recommendations for 2 nights.

Thx.
Seth

HI Seth. I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Canton last year and there were a bunch of shooters there. RBGC is a beautiful range against the mountains. There is not a hotel really near the range. But there is little traffic in the 20 mile drive to the range. There are a couple of hotels around that exit. It's a great match.

River Bend is a fantastic place to shoot and last years match was fantastic, but the range is really in the middle of nowhere. That being said there are some options. Canton, Cumming and Dawsonville are well within driving distance and all have great choices for hotels, restaurants, shopping (if the spouses come) etc. Plan on a good 30 minute min. drive to the range from each of these cities.

Whats the word on Alpharetta? Seems to be a lot of choices for hotels and reasonable rates.

Alpharetta is a great place, but its quite large and even further from the range. If you were to choose something in this vicinity I would try for something on Winward Parkway. Its the last exit in Alpharetta going north toward the range. Add another 20-30 mins to your drive vs. Cumming, Dawsonville or Canton if you shoot on Sat or Sunday. maybe a lot longer if you shoot on Friday. You never know whats going to happen on GA400 during rush hour in Alpharetta.
