Just starting reloading and I wanted to see if anybody has a recipe for a major load for a Precision Delta 230 grain FMJ with WST and CCI primers. I am shooting it out of a 5" STI Trojan. Thanks.

I am shooting mixed range brass and CCI LP primers with 4.7gr of WST under 230gr RN PowerBond bullets OAL 1.250 and getting good results with a 5" XD and great results out of a SA Trophy Match.

Thanks. What kind of fps are you getting out of the SA? I'm wondering what the difference between plated and jacketed bullets will be.

Why just good out of the XD? Accuracy?

You might want to drop the powder a little, I shoot 200gr Precisions in my 45 with 4.7gr of WST at about 1.230-40 RN or 1.260 SWC to make USPSA Major they fly about 840 fps average.

I just switched to Clays at 4.2 gr and it averages 840 fps just shoots a little softer and seems to be more consistent. 200 gr Precision bullets, rn of SWC.

No chrono, the XD is shooting 2"-2.5" groups off a bag at 25yds; the SA is putting everything into 1".

Well, the Precisions ended up being on a 7 week backorder so I bought some in stock Black Bullet International 230grain's. Less WST, I assume?

230 gr Rainier
4.0 gr WST
1.25" COL
Fed LP

That's was my plate load for the reolver. Nice and soft. Watch the bullets run down range (almost distracting like an airsoft pellet).

That makes major out of a 4" 625? Would've thought you'd need more powder in there.
