I am truly a product of my shooting community, soaking up as much as I can and trying to apply them to my own game. I will always welcome 3rd party critique, so please feel free to jump in here and express your thoughts.
Everyone does their journal different, what I think I'll do is post videos of my matches, and provide my own post-mortem analysis on my performance and any new lessons learned, etc.
Here goes:
June 14th, 2009
USPSA Match at Paul Bunyan
Open division / Major
B Class
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=CECf3AQNATg
Goals for the match: Accuracy/points, relaxing and stage execution. Working on a new grab, elbow and shoulder position on my draw.
Thoughts: I noticed when I slowed down, I was still able to keep up with the higher ranked shooters being at most 1 second behind. Combined with points, I was able to beat them more often then I have in the past. I was shooting slower, and it really bothered me how slow I felt I was going, but really surprised me when they read my time. I am shooting faster than I think.
Failures: I had 2 failures to go into batteries. I am removing the 8lb spring and going back to my 10lb spring. I have had problems since I've swapped them out. These failures really hurt my overall score/performance on the two stages these happened on. 1 happened on the classifier and really hurt.
Although my scores where input incorrectly, I only had 1 D in this match, no mikes. My C's were around 15%-18%. 1st place B class/9 shooters.
A- 109
B- 1
C- 26
D- 1
M- 0
