So the upcoming Johnson 3gun promises forced weak sided shooting with both rifle (ar15 with TA11 acog for me) and shotgun (iron sighted benelli m2).

I have zero experience with this. I also have very poor vision in me left eye (and I'm right eye dominant and right handed).

So what techniques can I use to optimize my weak side shooting. Is there a way to shoot weak sided using my right eye?

My hint comes from an Aussie I know.
The first time he had to shoot left shouldered, it turned out he couldn't close his right eye and he had double vision. He remedied this by having a friend put their hand over his head over his right eye.

As he progressed in shooting, he got a patch and his friends just scream "patch on" "patch off" at the appropriate times!

I'm not sure that helps you, but it's one method!!! :roflol:

You've got over a week to figure it out!!

It may not be as hard as you think. JJ just screams "close your right eye" if he sees I'm looking a little lost. Sometimes, if I just remember to say it to myself helps.

It's tricky to use your right eye with a left shoulder mount, but I suppose it depends on your scope!

Everyone's vision is obviously diffrent but I have 20-400 vision in my left eye and good vision in my right eye, I have a aimpoint comp on my saiga shot gun which fixed my weak hand shooting with my shot gun, I still haven't tried it with my AR yet. If I don't use the aimpoint, I end up looking about 3 inches over my barrel, I tried shooting that way once at a IDPA match and it didn't go very well. I shoot everything with both eyes open, even if one dosen't work very well. I did have a good shot gun stage last Sunday where I started left handed shot half the course switched to right handed and finished it.
Strive to win within the constraints that life imposes (time to train, money for equipment, natural physical ability, age, etc.) but ENJOY THE JOURNEY. As long as I am better today than I was yesterday, I have won.

Hmm, perhaps I'll have to start selling eye patches.

Maybe we'll have a national shoot like a pirate day too :roflol:
