Hi there,

Chuckie control says we are going to the Nats and we are staying on the Strip. (duh!) Momma was not impressed with the pool facilities at the match hotel. One place that seems to have a very good pool but not sure about the rooms is the flamingo. Does anybody have recent experience with that place? There seems to be an old part and new part. Is the new part worth it? I guess if cost was not an issue, we would be at Mandalay Bay!

TIA,
Chuck

I travel to Vegas 2 times a month. I have stayed at just about every property at some point. For the last year + I've only stayed at BALLYS.
The staff there treats you very well, they have some very good restuarants and are right in the middle of the " Strip" Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo. Easy walk to Belagio, Ceasars, Flamingo and Paris is connected by a walkway

MV,

Thanks for your info. I went to Vegas a couple years ago for some USPSA training and stayed at Paris. Just trooped through the casino from the garage to the elevators in my range costume and range bag. No issues.

But, what I am asking for is POOL information. Momma wants good swimming pool.

Thanks again,
Chuck

Here is the top 10 list of swimming pools in vegas...

1. Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino
This Vegas hotel doesn't have a pool, it has a water park. Eleven acres include a wave pool, a sandy-bottom lagoon and a lazy river. 1,700 tons of sand turn Mandalay Bay's swimming pool area into quite a beach.

2. Bellagio Las Vegas
A number of smaller pools in an elegant courtyard-like setting add to the intimate feel of this resort. Citrus trees and sculptured landscaping give the whole swimming pool area a Mediterranean feel.

3. Caesars Palace Hotel Casino
The opulent "Garden of the Gods," inspired by Roman baths, cover 4.5 acres and include four swimming pools (including topless sunbathing at the Venus swimming pool) and two whirlpools. Think white marble columns and mosaics. The "Sports Illustrated" 2001 Swimsuit Issue was photographed at this classic Las Vegas hotel.

4. Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
Rooftop pool in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower covers two acres with French-style gardens.

5. Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
Fifteen acres of tropical swimming pools with waterfalls, water slides and plenty of palm trees. Lush and relaxing.

6. Hard Rock Hotel Casino
The Hard Rock attracts a young crowd, drawn to the swimming pool as much for its floating craps table as its social scene. A sandy bottom and circular currents keep things moving. You're not hearing things; rock music is piped in underwater.

7. Palms Las Vegas
Three swimming pools cover two acres at this hip off-Strip hotel. Cabanas abound, or you can book a two-story poolside Bungalow. Outdoor concerts can entertain up to three thousand people at one party. Skin is an upscale poolside nightclub.

8. Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino
Yet another reason to venture across the highway to the Rio. Four pools, with sea creature styling (one has a clam shell in the center with a fountain coming from the pearl; another is inspired by a colorful fish). Waterfalls, whirlpools and a blackjack table keep things interesting. One area has a sandy beach.

9. Mirage Hotel Casino
Two tropical swimming pools are connected by lagoons and filled by waterfalls. The pool area also has three whirlpools, three water slides and lots of palm trees.

10. MGM Grand Hotel Casino
Everything at the MGM Grand is big, and the swimming pool is no exception. Take your pick from five swimming pools and a nice long lazy river (1,000 feet long, to be exact).

Been at the Mandalay.

That water park was fun for the family. The kid did the wave pool. I cruised the "river" on a tube. Lots of little interconnected pools if you just wanted to lay out pool side and cool off now and again.

Mandalay's pool is the best, IMHO. If you want a pool where you can "see and been seen", then I would say Mirage, Bellagio, etc. TI's pool is very nice and family friendly. Circus Circus' "pool" is an oxymoron.
