It would be ESP legal but not CDP. CDP is .45acp only.

AL

edited to add......It cannot have a full length dust cover or bull barrel though.

A .40 STI Eagle with barrel bushing and short dust cover would be an IDPA ESP.

An Edge with bull barrel and long dust cover would not be permitted.

Is a 2011 STI in 40 legal for IDPA. I know it wont be ok for SSP or ESP but would it fall within CDP regs?

Legal in ESP with short dust cover and smaller mag well. It cannot have a recoilmaster. It must have a giude rod, bushing and make weight.

As above with the SVI smaller/normal magwell will work great. The smaller STI magwell trimmed a little is good to go also. .40 for ESP and the .45 for CDP.

Why can't it have a recoil master?

The .45 can also be used for ESP.

Good point Joe. As you told me the .45 downloaded can be super soft in ESP. I believe you told me a 200gr bullet over 3.0 of clays. That is one of the main reasons I went with the STI Eagle in .45. CDP, ESP, L10, and Limited if I so desire.

In addition to NOT having a bull barrel and NOT having a FLDC, the gun in question has to weigh less than 43 ounces for ESP and 41 ounces in CDP (if it is chambered in .45 ACP). Also, the grip safety can't be pinned either, which is a fairly common occurance among USPSA 2011 type guns.

Just curious, for a .45 ACP 2011, how many rounds can you stuff into the gun for Limited?

In a way it would kind of interesting if say the .40 or the 10mm at major PF would be allowed back into CDP.
"It's simple economics. Today, it's oil, right? In 10 or 15 years, food, plutonium. Or maybe even sooner. Now what do you think that people are going to want us to do then? Ask them. Not now, then. Ask them when they are running out. Ask them when there is no heat in their homes, and they're cold. Ask them when their engines stop. Ask them when people who have never known hunger start going hungry. You want to know something. They won't want us to ask them. They'll just want us to get it for them."

From the movie Three Days of the Condor (1975).
