Max Michel posted a 1.70 second run on the Bianchi Speed event. Draw and knock down five speed plates (like Poppers, but no upper tab)

The fastest run of the day.

Not sure, but I think the 1.7 was the fastest run ever at the CUP. Previously Doug Koenig had the records, at 1.84 Metallic and 1.86 in Open. A 1.7 is so fast that it is almost uncomprehensible. In fact there was a run in the 1.7's in 1996 by Australian Ross Newell, and his run was thrown out, as it was believed to have been so fast that it was ruled that there must have been an equipment malfunction. I was there!

Colt Speed plates have a 12" diameter round top (same as Pepper Popper) with a wide neck, much wider than a Pepper Popper below the round. They stand 28" tall.
