This is the new Sightron model 30mm tube mil-dot scope. I picked it up NIB for $525 off of sniper's hide.

I am amazed how chean and sharp the glass is. I have multiple Leupold and Burris (high end) scopes on hunting rifles, and this scope is easily equal to if not better than the Leupold glass. It blows the Burris glass away. I can't believe these are only $700-$800 scopes new.

I haven't mounted or shot it yet. That will be the true test, but I am currently thoroughly impressed. The SII's I have looked at were OK, but lacking. Sightron has definately improved their products.

I have the 1" version of that exact scope mounted on a Savage 10FCP and have been very happy with it. Brightness is excellent, and the adjustments have been accurate and repeatable. From my experience the SIII's are competitive with anything in the price range.
