Homemade steel targets

I browsed through the forum, but didn't see what I am looking for. Could someone post some good detailed pics or a good link that would show me a good way to build stationary steel challenge type targets, and the stands used to support them. In my area, knock down targets are what are used the most, so I would like to build some fixed/stationary ones. I am a fabricator by trade, so no big deal as I have the resources at work
Problem is, when you do something for a living, you tend to over engineer it, and the way I build stuff, I likely would need a boom truck to move them around the range
Appreciate any help!

I took a standard target stand and welded a piece of sq tube that would accept a 1.25" pc of square tube. then took a 4' tall pc of 1.25" sq tube and drilled a .5" hole 1" from the end (top) placed the other end in now modified target stand and used a .5" bolt 4" long thru the drilled hole to hold my plates, which a drilled to accept a .5" bolt the hole in the plate is 1" from the edge. It hangs easily and rings very well when hit. I also take a 2' pc of angle iron and place it behind the plate on the poles to keep from blowing bullets thru the poles. 1" to 1.25" angle works fine. I've also used 1" or 1.25" rod for the poles and not had a problem with bullets demolishing the poles
The poles are not standard Steel Challenge height but in practice they really do not affect times or transitions.
I've used this set up for years and years and have not replaced any components yet.

Find some old plow disks from a farmer friend. They make great portable bases that can be rolled around and won't fall down when the target is hit. They're usually cheap or free too. I used angle on mine all the way from the disk to the plate. You can weld a plate across the back top of the angle and make your plates with a tab that goes down into that place so that plates can be switched out when you want to shoot at a different size, shape. That keeps you from haveing to build a stand for each plate you want.
