building a plate rack & Texas star ?

I want to build a falling plate rack and I need specifications, can any of you help me out with this one. The girl friend would like to see me make a Texas star as well so I could use some help there as well.

Not a welder, but I did stay at ......, just kidding. I have a home made plate rack that a friend made. I do know that the scraper blades on the big snow plow trucks that cities and counties use are super hard and make a great deflector plate down the front of the whole machine. Mine has one and not a dent or ding on it after thousands of hits. Funny,..... I've never aimed at it. Must be my friends' hits. :unsure:
