Looking for some advice. My steel gun has a 9lb recoil spring in it that looks like it had a couple coils clipped off. The gun runs flawlessly with my current load. The problem is it's a little hot and I don't need the extra recoil for shooting steel. I dropped the powder charge, but my gun won't cycle reliably now with the lighter loads I developed. I changed to an 8lb spring and clipped off two coils but the gun still won't run
with the lighter loads. My question is should I just keep clipping coils off the 8lb spring until it runs more reliably, or switch to a 7lb spring and clip if neccessary? Thanks in advance.

I use 7lb cut 2 coils to my BCH'N steel pistol. At 128pf run without any problem.
