This is my best guess of the proper category to ask:
Anyone have a recommendation related to using the self sealing plastic targets? I am thinking they may be good to use in an indoor range - no splatter, no damage to the floor, etc.
Do they take heavy round abuse and what sort of life can one expect from them? Thanks, in advance.

I have used them a lot for 22 rimfire. A lot. They have held up OK. My buddy made some plate racks out of them and they are great for that.

I would not even consider them for center fire rounds. I think it would only take a couple of hundred 9mm to tear them up but I could be wrong. The problem is they are not cheap.
"If you were one of America's Founders, and you'd just surprised the world... by winning a war of secession against the most powerful and heavy-handed government on the planet, and the last thing in the world you wanted for yourself, for your children, or for your grandchildren was to fall beneath the heels of its jackboots again, what would you want the Bill of Rights to mean? And if the first act, under martial law, of that powerful, heavy-handed government had been to try to take your guns away at Lexington and Concord, would you have written a Second Amendment to guarantee its 'right' to own and carry weapons? Would you have written a Second Amendment that was subject to whatever government claims is 'reasonable regulation'? Or would you have written the Second Amendment to forbid government from having anything to do with your guns?"

We shot the HELL out of a Newbold target at the indoor range I use to work at and it held up great. Just do not use any hollowpoints on them. Hollowpoints take plugs out of them and tear them up FAST. As long as you are using only round nose I think they are worth the cash. Next chance I get I'll dig around and see if that target is still around and get a picture of it.

Thanks for the response.
Speedwell says their targets have a 1000-1500 round life. The hollow point warning makes sense.
