Bought 2 1000 count boxes of WLP primers the other day. Did not have my glasses with me so all I saw was the "WLP" on the end of the box.
When I got home I noticed that they say "for regular or magnum loads" Are these what are called magnum primers? Can they be used safely on
regular 45 ACP loads? Thanks. Bob.

I do not believe Winchester makes 2 different primers for magnum or regular loads anymore. I use these same primers for my 45 acp loads with great results.

Depending what kind of press you are loading them in you might want to be careful. I believe the Lee progressives with auto primer feed requiere that you do not use winchester primers in their presses. I do not know if any other presses have the same restrictions.

I use a dillon press and they are fine.

The Winchester primers will give you a little more velocity that a Federal or a Remington. As long as your load is not a miximum load developed with another brand primer you are good to go. I did some chrono testing about a year ago using different primers. If I can find it I will post it here.
