Beginning 04.01.09, a fee is now required to advertise a for-profit class in the Competition Class Forums.

There are 2 options:

• $300/year: Advertise as many classes as you want
• $50 per individual class

I highly suggest reading the complete Competition Class Guidelines before starting a thread in the Competition Class Forums.

So Max Michel and Travis Tomasie are wanting to do a class the Thursday and Friday before the Mississippi Sectional Match. The class dates are May14-15 and you will shoot the match with Max and Travis on the 16th and 17th. This is the perfect opportunity for you to get some last minute training and shoot the match while it is fresh on your brain. The class will be conducted at the range facilities of the Mississippi Classic.

-Class is 2 days May 14-15 (Thursday and Friday, shoot the match Saturday and Sunday, it's a 2 day match)
-Round count 800
-12 people
-shoot the match with 2 IPSC World Champions
-class cost $500
-there will be a $100 deposit prior to the class to be accepted no later than April 15, 2009 to reserve your spot in the class

A couple other things I'd like to mention here is that Max and Travis want to offer a free slot to any Junior shooter that attends the class with their Dad. This would be a great opportunity to help your Junior move up to the next level. This is not a beginner level class but a USPSA competition based class. If you have never competed in USPSA competition you do not want to attend this class. The last thing is that while you do have the opportunity to shoot with Max and Travis during the match, the instruction ends at the end of the class. They don't mind sharing tips but please be mindful and courteous and not ask them to break stages down for you. It would not be fair to the other competitors competing in the match.

A top shooter friend once said it's a funny thing about folks in our sport.

You take a C or D class shooter and you tell them that if they attend a class for the weekend, yeah, they'll spend close to $700 but they'll be 20-30% better in that 2 days, they don't really want to as it's expensive and they'd rather shoot matches and "practice".

You take an A or B class shooter and you tell them that if they attend a class for the weekend, yeah, they'll spend close to $700 but they'll be 10% better in that 2 days, they will jump all over it as they see that it's a more efficient way to get to where you want to be.

Bobby - If I wasn't shooting the TBRC in May, I'd come on down and play with you, Max & Trav. Can't really see 3 people to have more fun with in Mississippi at an awesome match too!

So for folks on the fence, get out there and get in on this class and this match. You have 2 National and World Champion shooters going through everything with regards to your shooting, AND they're incredible nice guys too.

All you have to do is start here by saying you'd like to put your name on the list. With enough interest we'll start collecting a deposit to insure a space in the class and on the squad with Max and Travis during the match.

HMMMMM.... it's a 12+ hour drive for me and I'm taking a class with Burkett 2 weeks after this class but it would be a great way to improve.

I've never had any formal instruction, and wondered if the class will be everything from fundamentals on up, or just stage breakdown/gaming strategies?

I am definitlely interested, as I will be going to this match anyway.
I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more shooting!

If you are going to the match anyway, you really should jump all over this. I'm going from Chicago to AL to take a class with them. ;)

Guys I just got an email from Max. He just received his schedule for departing the Army and it's going to be happening a little early, which happens to coincide with this class and match. Looks like they will have to reschedule and may not be able to make it for this class or the match.

With enough interest they are willing to do a class, they just can't do it in early May. :(

As it turns out, that time frame is starting to look bad for me, so I would likely have had to cancel anyway. Plus, costs being what they are, I really need to find something a lot closer to home than 1000 miles.

Sounds like an amazing opportunity. Too bad I don't have a USPSA clasification (only did a few matches 2 years ago, been doing IDPA ever since). I'm renewing my membership for this season, but no way I'll be classified between now and then.
