Guys,
Does anyone have the dimensions for the Barricade. I am specifically looking for
the thickness of the wall.
I took a look at the barricades last year and lost the drawing I made. I remember
something like 1/2" thick plywood with a 1.5 x 1.5 angle iron. This would add up
to 2" of total thickness when grasping the wall.
Is this correct?
Thanks,
Bob

I need the dimensions for the NRA Action Barricade. I did order a rule book a couple of years ago and cannot find it. (It probably has the dimensions in it)
I have seen some barricades constructed completely from plywood and 2X4's and some from angle iron. I believe that the ones at the Cup are made from an angle
iron frame with a plywood "face".
Does anyone have the specifications for the ones used at the Cup? It would be nice to practice on the same type as used in the big match.

If you didn't bring it, your not going to find it here!

Check to be sure but I am pretty sure the door dimension is 6' tall, 2' wide. The shooting box dimension is 2' wide, 3' long. Most that I see have a 1/2" plywood door area, with 1 1/2 " angle iron fastened to the back edge of the barricade sides, mounted so the flat is flush with the plywood edge. Bolts used should flat head, or counter sunk, so that if a shooter were to mount their "wings" at that spot it still is a flat continuous surface.
The rigidity of the barricade is not as important as it's consistency of "bounce or vibration" for each side. Certainly less bounce is better. Another key element if the barricade is permanent that it be positioned perpendicular to the targets and at the proper center line. If the barricade are portable then witness marks for placement would save a lot of set up time. Some portable barricades are quite nice. The portable barricades at Kevin's Hinton Match are as good as any I have seen, with large wheels to make them roll easy in the mud!

Here is a link to the USPSA site. I'm not sure that these barricades conform to actual "Bianchi Cup" rules.

Just to relay my experience with this Bob
Built a barricade for home practice, made a nice one IIDSSM, rigid, right size box and all,
did pretty good practicing with my home made barricade "wings" and my Optima.
Got to the cup, I think my first stage was the barricade, targets turn, I draw and place the
gun on the barricade, fire the 1st shot....BOING... the damn barricade swings for and aft
like one of those springy sign deals you see in front of gas stations
Think I missed 2, maybe 3 shots. This was a practice session or something like that (2000...2002 ??)
so least I was aware of it for the big part of the match.
Now maybe they've replaced those since then, all I'm saying is when you go check it out before you
start blazing away
I liked the Cup and the accurate shooting required, good luck.
(and sorry, I don't have the dimensions handy)

Mod note:
I split off a few posts that were addressing how to shoot a bouncy barridcade. They deserved their own topic.
I then merged this thread with an older thread (from the same topic starter).
A seacrch for "barricade" with "search in topic title only" came back with these results: http://www.brianenos...te=%2Bbarricade
Lots of good info that has been covered can be found with the search function.
Rock on.
