I have and idea.......

Thinking about getting into the airsoft world for USPSA. Those of you that use it for training during the winter months I would like some feedback.

Would anybody be interested in poppers, mini poppers, texas stars, plate racks, swingers, drop turners and anything else to do with IPSC for a airsoft gun that you can shoot in your garage? Want to also like to come up with a line of cardboard targets for airsoft but have to come up with a vendor first that can make them.

I've had a blast with what I've made so far. I can also make the plate racks and the poppers auto resetting if you like. Wait till you see the range that I have ready for the spring in the back yard. The garage is no barrier.

What kind of metal are the made of???? Do they leave ding marks???

The set I have is made of aluminum, (the plates--the frames are steel) and I haven't made a ding mark in one yet. Tons o' fun!

I started using Airsoft last winter (our range frequently closes because of berms frozen solid with ice). I've moved on from the obligatory HG to SG and M4 also (FA Airsoft is about as much fun as you can have without a Tax Stamp ).

Love the looks of that Table Top rack with the 1/3 Poppers...can you tell me the overall width?

Yes I can, they are 36" wide. The plates are 6" on center.

I messed around with an Airsoft (KWA G17) for a couple of days. It sent my timing straight down the crapper, and the first 9mm round I fired at our next indoor match felt like a .44MAG ... It was spooky. That was just in one weekend with the airsoft. Took 3 stages to really get back to the centerfire swing of things.

IMO, they're great for transitions, and for any work that requires one shot, like draws. But stay away from el-prez's and the like.

Mags are too fragile and expensive to do reload practice with.

Everyone says not to re-use BBs, but I found a way. The airsoft pellets will penetrate a regulation USPSA or IDPA target just fine, and not deform. Looks like you're shooting it with 22s. I took 5 copier paper boxes without lids, stuck old towels in the bottom, taped them to the back of a target beind the A & C zones, and stood them up on stools and TV trays around the house.

You can also tape a towel to the back of the target like a cape, and let it hang. BBs will punch through the cardboard, get stopped by the towel, and fall without damaging the inside of your house.

Shoot through the target, the towel stops the BB, and nothing exits. Paste targets like normal. After a dozen or so runs, tip the box and pick up all the non-deformed BBs.

I use sometimes a kwa Glock for pratice, but I blocked the elevator on BB magazine in order to not activate the slide stop.

I use my airsoft glock to dryfire, set up a bunch of scaled down targets in my garage, and pratice draws and transitions, without firing pellets, only watching front sight bouncing.

I use my airsoft to reinforce my sight tracking ability somewhat, however I think that current airsoft pistol are way too fragile to offer good training.
