Rule from a non-affilated steel match - ALL safeties must be ON for single action pistols. Hammers down, safety off, finger OUT of trigger guard on double action pistols.

How would you start Glocks, XD's and all other Striker fired guns?

As far as I know they are treated like double action guns.

Like the DA's, but without a hammer.

As stated they are like a double action. If someone decides to argue the toss, use the following description / explanation.

Glock and XD.

In fact the striker (hammer) is forward (down) when the firearm is loaded and ready to fire, the trigger moves the striker rearwards until it is released from the trigger / sear and then fires the cartridge.
So many guns, so little time.
