Does anyone know how to increase dot intensity on a BSA 42mm sight? Have it installed on a .22 that I use for outdoor steel matches and even at highest setting, cannot pickup the dot. Uses a 3V Lithium #2032.
Thanks!

I talked with riden about trying two of the thinner 2016 batteries. That brightens up the optimas, will it also work for the tube dots?
Thank you,

FYI...have tried the 2 thinner batteries in place of the standard one for the dot and no change in intensity.

Perhaps a polarising filter or something similar would help ..

There is a gent in Oklahoma that can brighten your dot, he goes inside the battery module and replaces some resistors or something. He did my PDP5 and it works. Batt life will be shorter when you use the higher settings.
Unfortunutly I can't fing his number
The place is called "Oki-dot" (like the printer company so a web search turns up a ton of stuff. The last time I got his contact info was from a "Front Sight" magazine. Sorry I don't have more.

To be honest the BSA really woudn't be worth dumping the money into. I looked at one at Gander mountain and the optics are crap. Bushnell bought out Tasco and is selling the reddots sights for 40-50 bucks. They are clear and bright.
