Not only did they win! they posted some great scores = a ! 94 ! in the rifle event... out shooting teams with ten years of STC shooting. or think of it like this... The only target they did not hit was three 1" one inch targets off hand at 40yards. Wow!
I think Rene has the bug now ... just no way to describe bite this match can put on you.
:D It was real fun to see her face at the match :) Rene is part of the STC family now

Thanks. We're all pretty stoked. A great combination of skills and team work.

My equipment was...
* S&W 41 with Clark Bullseye Optic Barrel (shot rimfire targets in the handgun event and primary handgun on the combo event).

Our least experienced handgunner, Cathy Winstead shot on the Action Plates and Dawn Boyter shot the 4" squares both using borrowed, compensated, scoped centerfire semi auto pistols. Cathy was our primary rifle on combo and Dawn shot her initial 2 magazines then loaded mags for Cathy and I.

* Clark 10/22 rifle with .920 RDCM barrel 16.25" & FM 6x24 - 44 scope from Zanders Sporting Goods using the 40th anniversary clear factory Ruger magazines. My job was 45 & 60 yard targets, help as needed @ 75 & 90.

Cathy (our silhouette shooter) shoots the 90 yard bank and Dawn (Sporting Clays specialist and former STC competitor) takes care of 75 yd.

* Remington 11-87 SP 12 Gauge with porting (the same gun that I used to shoot USPSA Open 3 Gun with... just pulled off the long tube and speed loader bracket.)

I think the other ladies were both shooting Beretta auto loaders but couldn't swear to it.

Flurry - Dawn and I each shoot 2 out of the initial 5. Cathy loads one and starts the rotation. Everybody loads 2 & shoots 2.

Flush - Assigned traps - I was on the 2 right, Dawn the 2 left and Cathy on the teal. Load 2 and shoot your assigned traps.

Mixed bag - Keyed on rabbit - had our designated coach watching for the tower.

The most fun shooting event I've ever participated in. :D
I'm looking forward to actually learning how to shoot the aerial targets.

Do you have a favorite stage/postion yet? I have always liked the 2" targets at 45 & 50 yards with the hand gun. B)
Ya just gotta love the flying targets though.

Hit the nail on the head with that one Jamie. I went out and watched one day of practice and the finals... Clark Custom is now building my 10/22, and I've got my eye on a Model 41. Shotgun to follow as soon as I have a few moments to spec it out. I'd say I'm already hooked, and I've never put a single round down range. :)

Besides the sport itself, I have to tell you that the folks in it are the biggest draw for me. Super folks...

Of course, it was the same story when I got started with USPSA. Hangin' out with a super bunch of folks... running with guns... can't beat that.

I'm thinkin' STC and IPSC are complementary.... Doing the one will help me become better at the other.

Congratulations again Renee!!! You guys rock! (Got Chapstick?)

STC is great fun..we only got trained up for a regional and then we had to pull up due to family obligations of one of the team..

but practicing away at the the 2" and 4" plates with a pistol and all the shaped plates with the rifle...you really figure out sight picture..

shotgun is a hoot too.. :D :D
