I can't get the ezwin to email my results. When I try to send a box comes up and say's The Names not underlined are unresolvable then it locks up my computer. Anybody else have this problem?

No. Just uploaded yesterday's match with no problem.

Maybe I did not make myself clear. I am not having trouble uploading the results. I am having trouble emailing them, that is the little email button on the results page between SAVE HTML and the WEB FILE buttons.

I've never used that feature (I have AOL and don't know if it works with AOL. Because of that, I don't put the shooters email addresses into EZ very often.)

Do others use it? Does it work well? What format does it send the score out in?

Once I get done with a new feature, you won't have to put in shooters email addresses. Tom Dings TY41365 pointed out that it was a waste of time to expect each match director to enter competitor email addresses.

The profile a member can set on www.uspsa.org/members allows the member to define their email address and notification preference.

Once this new feature is finished, the uploading of any match to local or major match results on www.uspsa.org will cause a "results ready" notification to be sent to every competitor in the match who has registered an email address and asked for such notifications. The only thing the match will need to do in order to have these notices sent it enter the member numbers correctly.

Rob,

That rocks. The more of the data entry hassels that can be taken off of the MD's and put back on the competitors the better when it comes to stuff like this. Thanks for all the great work.

Send me an email address and I'll show you. (They're .txt files, and you can look yourself by hitting the club.txt cmdbutton in the match results window.) And no, it probably wouldn't work with AOL, if you're using AOL software as your email reader, vs something like outlook or outlook express. Bn

"The Names not underlined are unresolvable..."? No, I've never seen that. I've seen it come up with other excuses not to populate a generated outlook email with addresses, but never something like that which completely hosed the system. What operating system, what release of ezws?

John

It's not putting much data entry on the competitors - they only have to do it once for all matches (all that use the USPSA results system, that is).

Thanks Bill. I see that the "unofficial combined" results were included. Is that by default or by user choice? (Our shooter like seeing those unofficail results.)

That was by user (i.e., my) choice. the club.txt button runs an internal script that scores everything by division and generates .txt files for by-division results only.

Bill, I'm using windows XP. I just order the disk from USPSA last month and then did the online upgrade. It also did the same thing on another computer with win me.

Well, we don't talk about win/ME.... ("I got a problem." "What is it?" "blahblah blows up." "What's your operating system?" "Win/ME." "That's your problem!")

Just for grins and giggles, I tried it myself just now, not really expecting it to work, and it did successfully generate the email in conjunction with MS Outlook. I don't rely on it as a feature; when that MAPI code was written, the most recent MS Office was Office 97 and it wasn't 100% then, either. I rely on other methods of reporting match results, i.e., uploading to uspsa.org, uploading to other local web sites, and emailing generated .txt and .pdf results using an external email list. We generally send results to an entire club's email list, regardless of whether a given person shot that particular match or not. They might take the hint and come to the next match. The club.txt cmdbutton, which generates .txt match result files for all the divisions in turn with a single button press, doesn't even try to connect to any email client, and pretty much assumes you'll be sending results out under your own steam.

I'd say report this to roger@uspsa.org for official support.

Rob,

That's an awesome way to notify users of results. Someone else mentioned the unofficial combined results.
For the 6 clubs I shoot at, we always send those results in email, then notify that the "official" individual results are on the USPSA web page. This would simplify what we do, except for the combined results.

I suspect a lot of clubs do this. I know it's been asked and answered in the past, but any chance of allowing the combined results to be posted on the web page?

(sorry to ask that for what is probably the 1000th time, but I get asked that routinely locally).
