I want to start assembling parts to build an open gun. I have a pretty good list from the guy that I think will build it but I don't have a good idea where to buy everything. I would like the best deal possible. I want ro start with a caspian slide and a suhemann 3 port barrel. Any ideas?

Shooters Connection would be where I'd start... they have great service and support the sport. They carry Caspian slides and Schuemann barrels. They also have practically every other part you'll need or want.

FYI I just ordered a slide from Caspian, nothing special but with options they offered. I was quoted up to 8 weeks and this was not from their web site but from Gary Smith at Caspian. Its gonna be a long wait.

Brownells may have a lot of fun parts too
After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.

Love Caspian but they do have some wait times on the custom stuff so you should have plenty of time to collect a boat load of aluminum cans. Have you considered selling blood, too? Could probably get a nice holster rig with the blood money.

Caspian slide from shooters connection. It's cheaper than Casipan because they order them in batches with the reverse plug cut. No wait either.

I saw those but no stainless and no serrations I was looking for. And for some of the prices I figured it was worth the wait.

Eric, the guy that I am talking to about building the gun for me, bubba smith, says I should use a tungston guide rod. That is the opposite end of the spectrum from what you are saying. Why do you think aluminum?
