Im thinking of changing to a Magpul MOE stock perhaps. I also am considering trying to mount the Magpul Angled forend.

My stock doesn't quite fit me perfect either, but, I'm not going to worry about it until I figure out how to get it to run 100%.
The reason I spent the money on a custom, was to NOT have issues. :surprise:
I've yet to get it to run 50, without something going on, and I don't have much time left before the Rockcastle to get it all figured out.

Good luck at RockCastle. I had to pull out due to a short term illness and the associated costs ate up my fun money and some vacation. This was an after the season idea for me.

I'm sorry to hear that!

Unless I can get in touch with Jim, and he can maybe turn it around in less than 2 weeks, I'll have to shoot my JP 1100. With the stage, shooting out of the car, I think the Firebird would have a big advantage. :surprise:

I'm far from being anything even remotely like an expert, but I've shot rifles with and without the AFG. Take this for what it's worth (about 3 cents)

For a short barrel tactical rifle, I like the AFG along with a shortened stock because it lets me pull my elbows in close to my body. But for almost everything else, I want a long stock and I want my left hand positioned slightly to the left side with my elbows out (chicken wings) - the AFG does not work for that.

I've used both the MOE stock and the AFG, I do like the AFG a lot but don't feel like it's overly necessary. It's one of those things (in my opinion) that you don't notice the benifits till you use it and then take it off. I like the moe but it has a lot of play, I'd recomend the CTR personally; however, the MOE is a lot lighter and a little more stable than the typical stock that comes on the base rifles. Just my opinion I'm by no means an expert.
