Slide Glide for metal-on-metal action

50:50 mix of Synthetic Transmission Fluid : Synthetic Motor Oil (Mobile1 for both) for small moving parts

Curious, why would you want to mix a solvent & cleaner with an oil or lubricator? Trans fluid is a solvent. They contain detergents, dispersants and surfactants (which protect and clean metal surfaces); kinematic viscosity and viscosity index improvers and modifiers, seal swell additives and agents (which extend the rotational speed range and temperature range of the additives' application); anti-foam additives and anti-oxidation compounds to inhibit oxidation and "boil-off"

Correct, and ATF is an excellent lubricant as well and it works great when mixed with Mobil 1. Three parts Mobil 1 20W50 and 1 part Dextron ATF works great as a pistol lubricant.. I have used Mobil 1 alone and mixed with different amounts of ATF for years with no issues. You can mix until you get the thickness you desire.

Because it works great and now he has a CLP.

For the reasons you mentioned,
cleans the metal, suspends the burnt gunpowder
increases temp range
resists boil-off.

I had a class from a former marine and current swat guy. In Iraq they used atf and diesel, says it kept all the machine guns running and even after getting them hot, they stayed wet.

Just used the slide glide and it worked just gine.shot 200 rounds on my gun and it stays there. The problem is that the looks messy inside due to the grease and gun powder residue. But still, its very slick.

you don't have use as much as you think. keep reducing the amount until you get it where you want it.
