Looks like Eric from Tru Grip does not offer grip tape for the Gen4 Glock 21 yet. Does any one know if the Gen3 Glock 21 SF grip tape he offers fits the Gen 4 model?

I don't know for absolute sure, but the G21SF TruGrip should work perfectly. The GEN 4 G21's grip is supposedly exactly the same size as the SF's. I say supposedly, because my GEN 4 G21 feels slightly smaller than my G20SF.

Thanks for the tip. My only question is whether things will fit around the mag release. I'll give it a try and report back. Thanks again.

I don't know why, but I completely forgot about that part. You'll most likely have to do a little trimming on both sides by the mag release. I don't think there's a huge demand for competition style grip tape for the large frame GEN 4's, so that one probably won't be out for a while if ever. Good luck man, let us know how it goes.

OK so here is the thing on this topic...

Before purchasing the Gen3 s1SF grip tape I wanted to call TruGripUSA and get thier opinion. Actually got to speak with Eric Wesselman (owner) on things and he was honest in that he didnt have an answer. He suggested, just as we discussed here, that I may want to purchase the 21 SF version and trim it. He also mentioned that if things didnt work out he would refund my money. A great gesture. In exchange he asked if I would kindly forward my thoughts on the matter to him after things were done. Seems like a great guy that stands behind his product.

The one big question he is grappling with is the design of the cut. Specifically, he's interested in learning whether folks would prefer one universal design that covers both the Gen3 as well as the Gen4 or if we would prefer a model specific design. That is, one model for the Gen321, another model for the Gen4 21 etc...

The question was hard for me to answer before trying things out but I can't really think of a reason why a universal design wouldnt work. The Gen 3 would likely have a reduced grip tape surface due to the larger mag button and the fact that it is reversable but that is only about an extra 1/4 of an inch in diameter on each side. should hardly be noticeable..then again..YMMV.

I know I'm odering the 21SF grip tape to play with things now but, without the benefit of trying things, what are your thoughts?
