Can anyone share their WST loads for 9mm using 124's and 147? Is this powder more suitable for .40 and .45?

I don't shoot .40 but I do also use WST for 45acp

Not normally used for 9mm so might be hard to find load data. Not sure why other then case volume/fast powder combination results in higher pressure, but than again you see loads for N320 and it is faster than WST. You will have better luck finding load data for WSF.

Glock 19
temp 56 degrees (WST is reverse temp sensitive)
OAL 1.150
Berry's PRN 147gr.
3.7gr WST
WolfSPP
Power Factor 133
Avg. Vel. 909 fps
SD 11.40
notes: clean, excellent metering, 75% density
Accuracy is very good.
The max charge that I was able to find was 3.8
so it is running at the top. I would avoid short
OAL's.

Gunfighter01 I would like to know what your high velocity
was at that charge. With 3.7 it is 924 fps.

According to Lapua/VV's burn rate chart, WST is faster than N320?

Are you shooting lead 124/147 ? WST is recommended a lot for that combo ... I'm currently using 4.4 g of WST with 124 g RN lead and 1.14 OAL. Chrono data shows ave PF 128.5 at 87 deg out of my G34. Virtually smokeless as well ...

Looking for data on everything however I initially bought this powder for cast bullets as its recommended for not being smoky. I shoot 124 and 147 cast in 9mm, in CZ's mainly my Shadow. Lots of good input here, are you guys using plain cast or moly coated?

I just chrono'd 4.4gr under a 125gr poly coated LRN at 129pf in 90 degree weather. 124gr MG bullets with 4.4gr ran 124-125pf (indoor and steel load) on the same day. That was out of my CZ 75 Shadow. I went to WST when I ran out of Solo. So far I've used a few different lots of WST. The density seems to change slightly (change in powder measure adjustment) from lot to lot but the PF for a particular weight stays the same. That's much nicer than Solo which needs to be reworked every time the lot changes. WST also smells a lot nicer when shooting on an indoor range with bad ventilation (don't try this with lead).

I just loaded up about 200rds of Bear Creek 147s. 100 @ 3.8gr 1.125 and 100 @ 4.0gr 1.125. Both sets I had about a 10% failure rate (failure to lock into battery) in my M&P 9mm. They shot very well but I need to bump down the OAL to about 1.12 to ensure reliability.

I use 3.8 with MG 147s and 5.0 with MG 115s. I dont remember the numbers exactly but ES was about 15fps and SD was single digits for both loads. This powder rocks in my opinion - tried, bullseye, power pistol, zip, and TG. I love WST.

WST works best with Moly or Bayou Bullets. I don't use it for jacketed in 9,40, or 45. But I use it in all 3 with Moly bullets and Bayou with great results. For 9 mm 124 and 147 jacketed use N320. User your search fo.

For 9 mm 124 Zero JHP Jacketed 4.6-4.7gr loaded 1.145 will produce about 130 pf +-, the es and sd will be high and it won't shoot as soft as N320 at 4.0-4.1 gr.

Neither N320 or WST is as fast as Clays, but I found that these loads were very not accurate but shot like airsoft. Don't recommend.

No I didn't fib I use it in 38SC open gun for Minor Steel 5.0gr with a 124gr Zero JHP. Knocks down steel with authority.
